Cleaning/Waste Management Specialist

Job Description:

• Performing Cleaning/Waste Management operation design review.

• The cleaning/Waste Management Specialist at this level is proficient in the utilization of

standard operating theories and practices, particularly those that provide continual

improvement in efficiencies, cleanliness standards and rectification times; and those that

allow sustainable Waste Management to be.

• Responsible to ensure the correct implementation of the project quality plan and quality

procedures and productivity related to all Cleaning/Waste Management works.

• Reviews and/or prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other relevant

documents as necessary.

• Assist in preparing RFPs for service providers regarding all Cleaning/Waste Management

matters.

• Responsible for preparing, reviewing & updating related strategic and operational plans such

as Sustainable Waste Management Strategy, Cleaning Service Improvement Strategy/Plan,

Operational Plans and ensuring that Strategic Objectives are met.

• Works with the Service providers to define workable Cleaning/Waste Management solutions

as required for the delivery of services and meeting City Objectives.

• Reviews method statements for operations and provides comments related to Cleaning/

Waste Management.

• Conducts periodic inspections to determine if Cleaning/Waste Management Operations have

been done in accordance with contract specifications.

• Prepares periodic special reports summarizing Cleaning/Waste Management related issues

and activities for review and approval.

• Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the

Cleaning/Waste Management activities.

Qualifications & Experience:

• An accredited level qualification/diploma level qualification with practical qualifications that

show operational, supervisory and management competence. These should demonstrate

experience of both City Cleaning and Sustainable Waste Management.

• Minimum 8 years' experience in Cleaning/Waste Management within large

projects/equivalent municipalities or developments with some concentration in facilities

management experience.

• Previous experience in projects with Pneumatic Waste Collection Systems is preferred, with

segregated waste streams.

• Able to coordinate and monitor all disciplines of Cleaning/Waste Management related to all

Contracts. This includes both management of the site supervision team as well as the Service

Providers, Sub Service Providers, and other appropriate specialties.

• Able to control Service Providers, Sub Service Providers in conformance with contract

documents, drawings, and specifications. This includes working knowledge with local and

international specifications that may relate to the projects.

• Able to demonstrate successful achievement of landfill diversion targets in a similar scale

project.

• Able to monitor progress of Works and carry out updating, planning and preparing progress

reports as required by the LREDC, including lessons learned and service improvement

recommendations.

• At least (1) year working with the company and minimum two (2) years working in the Arabian

Gulf Region.

• Similar technical qualifications along with similar substantial work experience also will be

taken into consideration.
